Assembling the Engine Block Part I
The Engine Block
Align the post on the Oil Filter with the hole of the Oil Filter Mount as shown.
There is a small tab and indent that need to be lined up here to make this sit flush:
Secure these together with one (1) AP screw:
Attach this Oil Filter assembly to the Engine Block, Left Bank by aligning the pins:
Secure the Oil Filter assembly in place from the inside of the block with one (1) AP screw:
Fit the Left Engine Mounting Bracket into the rectangular groove on the outside of the Engine Block, Left Bank with the longer arm closer to the Oil Filter as shown. Secure the bracket with two (2) AM screws.
This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Retrieve the Gearbox assembly from the previous stage and align the long protruding tab to the posts at the inside rear of the Engine Block, Left Bank. Join these parts together with two (2) AM screws, as shown:
Fit the Right Engine Mounting Bracket into the rectangular groove on the outside of the Engine Block, Right Bank with the longer arm to the rear of the block as shown. Secure the bracket with two (2) AM screws:
Fit the two Engine Block banks together, as shown:
Secure the blocks together with two (2) AM screws:
Attach the Oil Pan to the bottom of the Engine Block assembly as shown. Secure with two (2) AM screws:
MOM: Another piece of the engine now assembled! The Oil Filter and Oil Filter Mount are plastic; the remaining parts are metal.
