Assembling the Engine Block Part II

The Cylinder Heads

Stage 14.1

Slide one of the Oil Filler Caps onto the large post of one of the Cylinder Head Covers:

I think DeAgostini got these parts names wrong. These Oil Filler Caps look a lot more like oil breathers than filler caps:

Secure this into place from above with one (1) DP screw:

Stage 14.2

Gently press one of the Oil Filler Cap Covers onto the top of the Oil Filler Cap:

Take note that the two Cylinder Heads are marked with ‘L’ and ‘R’ to identify the different parts:

Retrieve the Engine Block assembly from the previous stage. Fit the Cylinder Head, Left Bank (marked with an ‘L’) to the left side of the Engine Block assembly ensuring it is orientated as shown:

Secure into place with two (2) CM screws.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Stage 14.4

Place the Cylinder Head Cover assembly onto the Cylinder Head, Left Bank as shown:

Secure this into place with four (4) CM screws:

Stage 14.5

Slide the remaining Oil Filler Cap onto the large post of the other Cylinder Head Cover, and secure with one (1) DP screw. Gently press one the remaining Oil Filler Cap Cover onto the top of the Oil Filler Cap.

This Cylinder Head Cover and the two oil filler parts are exact copies of the first one. Simply repeat Steps 14.1 and 14.2 here:

Stage 14.6

Fit the Cylinder Head, Right Bank (marked with an ‘R’) to the right side of the Engine Block assembly ensuring it is orientated as shown:

Secure into place with two (2) CM screws:

Place the Cylinder Head Cover assembly onto the Cylinder Head, Right Bank as shown:

Secure this into place with four (4) CM screws:
