Assembling the Engine Block Part III

The Inlet Manifold
Stage 15.1

Align the four mounting holes of Inlet Manifold (Piece 1) with the matching shorter posts of Inlet Manifold (Piece 2), as shown:

Secure these parts together with four (4) AP screws:

Stage 15.2

Align the four mounting holes of Inlet Manifold (Piece 3) with the matching longer posts of Inlet Manifold (Piece 2), as shown. Secure these parts together with four (4) AP screws:

Retrieve the Engine Block assembly from the previous stage. Fit this Inlet Manifold assembly to the four posts on top of the Engine Block assembly as shown:

Secure this assembly into place with four (4) CM screws.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Stage 15.4

Fit the Rear Plate of Supercharger to the Supercharger Housing as shown, and secure with two (2) AP screws.

It doesn’t matter which way up this rear plate goes, it is the same either way:

Stage 15.5

Fit this Supercharger Housing assembly to the top of the Inlet Manifold assembly as shown:

Secure the housing down with four (4) AP screws:

Retrieve the Air Intake/Supercharger assembly from Stage 1. Carefully lift the Air Intake up off the Supercharger:

Place the Supercharger onto the Supercharger Housing as shown:

Secure this into place with two (2) AP screws from above:

The Fuel Injection System
Stage 15.8

Press a Fuel Injector onto the shorter ends of one each of Fuel Injection Lines 15G, 15H, 15I, and 15J as shown:

Turn the Air Intake assembly over. Insert the longer end of Fuel Injection Line 15I into the top left hole of the Fuel Distributor, then push the pin of the Fuel Injector on the end of this Fuel Injection Line 15I into the third hole from the left on the Injector Plate.

Then, insert the longer end of Fuel Injection Line 15G into the bottom left hole of the Fuel Distributor, then push the pin of the Fuel Injector on the end of this Fuel Injection Line 15G into the far left hole on the Injector Plate:

Stage 15.10

Insert the longer end of Fuel Injection Line 15J into the top right hole of the Fuel Distributor, then push the pin of the Fuel Injector on the end of this Fuel Injection Line 15J into the far right hole on the Injector Plate.

Then, insert the longer end of Fuel Injection Line 15H into the bottom right hole of the Fuel Distributor, then push the pin of the Fuel Injector on the end of this Fuel Injection Line 15H into the second hole from the left on the Injector Plate:

MOM: This may take a little patience and light handling as the Fuel Injection Lines have a tendency to jump out of their respective holes in the Fuel Distributor.

Stage 15.11

Turn the Air Intake assembly around and insert the remaining Fuel Injection Lines and Fuel Injectors in the same way, mirroring the other side as shown:

Thoughts


MOM: Now we are getting somewhere!  The engine is starting to come to life!  All parts in this stage were plastic, with the exception of the Fuel Injection Lines which are metal.
