Build

The Front Windshield Wipers

Stage 97.1

Slide the pins of the Windscreen Wipers into the matching holes at the end of the Windscreen Wiper Arms, as shown.

While the Windscreen Wiper Arms are the same, the two Windscreen Wipers are marked ‘L’ and ‘R’:

Make sure the letters on the wipers are facing the Windscreen Wiper Arms. This way the letters will not be visible once the arms are mounted:

Stage 97.2

Retrieve your Body and press the peg of the Windscreen Wiper Arm (with the wiper marked ‘R’) into this matching hole at the base of the Windscreen on the passenger side:

Stage 97.3

In the same way, press the peg of the Windscreen Wiper Arm (with the wiper marked ‘L’) into this matching hole at the base of the Windscreen on the driver side:

You can gently rotate the base of these arms to align the wipers as you see fit:

Stage 97.4

Fit the hexagonal bases of the two Bonnet Safety Latches into these matching holes of the Front Panel Engine Housing:

Make sure the tiny holes in these latches are parallel to the long front edge of the panel, as shown:

Secure the Bonnet Safety Latches to the Front Panel Engine Housing from below with two (2) CM screws.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

In case you were wondering, the tiny CARB Exemption label printed on this part is actually quite legible:

Stage 97.5

Position this Front Panel Engine Housing down between the fenders, aligning the holes as shown.

This may require a bit of force to squeeze it down between the fenders:

Secure the Front Panel Engine Housing into place with four (4) RM screws:

Thoughts

The Windscreen Wipers were fiddly to assemble, but not too bad overall. Keep the rest of the unused parts from this stage nearby as we will need them in the next one.
